TRUMP IS BEOWULF FIGHTING AGAINST GRENDEL

“Beowulf” is a heroic epic poem written by an unknown author in Old English, around 1000 AD. It is one of the seminal works of English literature. It tells the story of the hero, Beowulf, and his battles against the monster Grendel and Grendel’s mother.

The poem begins with a history of the Danish kings, starting with Shild and leading up to the reign of the current king Hrothgar, Shild’s great-grandson. Hrothgar is well loved and a great warrior. He builds a lavish hall, called Herot, to house his vast army, and when the hall is finished the Danish soldiers gather under its roof to celebrate.

However, provoked by the singing and partying of Hrothgar’s followers, Grendel, a monster in human form who lives at the bottom of a nearby swamp, appears at the hall late one night and kills thirty of the warriors in their sleep. For the next twelve years the fear of Grendel‘s potential fury casts a shadow over the lives of the Danes.

Beowulf, prince of the Geats, hears about Hrothgar’s troubles, and gathers fourteen of his bravest warriors, and sets sail from his home in southern Sweden. The Geats are greeted by the members of Hrothgar’s court, and Beowulf boasts to the king of his previous successes as a warrior, particularly his victories in fighting sea monsters. Hrothgar welcomes the arrival of the Geats, hoping that Beowulf will live up to his reputation.

That night, Grendel appears at Herot, and Beowulf, true to his word, wrestles the monster bare-handed. He tears off the monster’s arm at the shoulder, but Grendel escapes, only to die soon afterward at the bottom of the snake-infested swamp where he and his mother live.

The Danish warriors, who had fled the hall in fear, return singing songs in praise of Beowulf‘s triumph and performing heroic stories in Beowulf‘s honor. Hrothgar rewards Beowulf with a great store of treasures and, after another banquet, the warriors of both the Geats and the Danes retire for the night.

Unknown to the warriors, however, Grendel‘s mother is plotting revenge for her son’s death. She arrives at the hall when all the warriors are sleeping and carries off Esher, Hrothgar’s chief adviser.

Beowulf, rising to the occasion, offers to dive to the bottom of the lake, find the monster’s dwelling place, and destroy her. He and his men follow the monster’s tracks to the cliff overlooking the lake where Grendel‘s mother lives, where they see Esher’s bloody head floating on the surface of the lake.

During the ensuing battle, Grendel‘s mother carries Beowulf down to her underwater home, but Beowulf finally kills the monster with a magical sword that he finds on the wall of her home. He also finds Grendel‘s dead body, cuts off his head, and returns to dry land. The Great and Danish warriors, waiting expectantly, celebrate as Beowulf has now purged Denmark of the race of evil monsters, who were descendants of the Biblical Cain.

Beowulf”is part of the tradition of epic poetry which functions as a kind of history, blending past, present, and future in a unique,all-encompassing way. It is not just a simple tale about a man who kills monsters, but rather a large-scale vision and recapitulation of the history of mankind.

There have always been monsters for heroic, good and brave men to fight. Today the battle is President Trump against the monsters in deep state (the swamp} represented by the likes of Brennen, Comey, Clapper, the Democrat party and the fake media. Their father, Obama and their mother, Hillary, are waiting to get revenge against The Donald for mortally wounding the monsters in the 2016 election and the Trump promise keeping presidency.

Grendel is the deep state or swamp which Trump (Beowulf) is draining. The always plotting Democrats won’t let go of Russian collusion. Therefore, Trump bear-handed will tear off Grendel’s tenacious arm at the shoulder and slay Grendel’s mother with the magical Sword of the Spirit.

Watch! The best is yet to come.

My Prayer for President Trump

The following is a prayer I have prepared for my weekly Bible Study group based upon Psalms 23-30. Can I get an AMEN from Face Book friends? Franklin Graham has called for National Day of Prayer for President Trump on June 2:

Father thou hast prepared a table for your obedient servant, President Trump, in the presence of his enemies. Anoint him with the oil of the Holy Ghost until his cup runs over. Let the two angels of goodness and mercy follow him wherever you lead and direct. Let him not be ashamed of his desire to MAGA. Help him return our beloved country to our foundations. Allow not his myriad of enemies, who hate him with a cruel hatred, triumph over him; make them ashamed who hate him without a cause.

Redeem President Trump, O God, out of all his troubles. Guide him in judgment and teach him your will. Deliver him from the bloody men of the swamp whose hands are mischief and their right hand is full of bribes. When the devourers come upon him and his family to eat of his flesh and drink of his blood, make the gluttons to stumble and fall. Keep his head lifted up above his enemies, who surround him and would drag him into the quagmire.

Help the President to maintain his consistent joyous spirit, which is his strength. Deliver him not over unto the will of his enemies: for false witnesses are risen against him, who breathe out cruelty. Strengthen his courageous heart. Draw him not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to the American people, but mischief is in their hearts. Let the President’s voice thunder majestically to empty the miry swamp as he shines the light on their sleaze.

Bestow unto President Trump thy favor so that everything he touches will prosper. May he never be moved.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE HILLARY?

That woman, Hillary, says, “I think it’s also critical to understand that, as I’ve been telling candidates who have come to see me, you can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you.”

No wonder she lost the election. Talk about someone who can’t see the writing on the wall! Even Obama said she ran a “soulless” campaign.

The pundits and the pollsters were the other bad losers in the 2016 campaign. Did any of them have Trump actually winning? Yet already we are seeing polls as to whom the supposed front-runners are and these polls even have them defeating Trump. The pundits live and die by the polls. The “experts” are lacking in something of which Trump has in abundance, political instinct.

The commentators should have been fired for their lack of political insight. One of the very few who saw Hillary’s loss coming was the fat slob from Michigan who wears the baseball cap. My friends on Face Book are consistently more astute than the chatter boxes on the news channels.

You would think that Hillary and the analysts would at least take advantage of the benefit of hindsight. In retrospect the massive enthusiastic crowds which Trump drew wherever he rallied was the best indication that he was going to win handily. Yet, the prideful dolts on TV will not acknowledge the sustained popularity of Trump, who continues to draw fervent multitudes to his one-man rallies.

What was Hillary to do to improve her campaign? She could only draw hundreds in her public appearances, if that, and those came out of a sense of obligation. No wonder she did not campaign in places like Wisconsin and Michigan, traditionally blue states, where everyone was bored with the frumpy feminist in her pant suits. The truth is that she was a loser from the beginning.

Who can be a match against Trump? Certainly, not that woman! Nor can any of the cast of thousands, scrambling on stage for the spotlight against President Trump, touch the man. The touchy-feely guy, who is the disloyal oppositions supposed front runner, doesn’t have a prayer. All the prayers are on Trump’s behalf.

I don’t for a moment believe that Democrat candidates are actually coming to Hillary for advice. She is making that up. Democrats are asking the question, “How do you solve a problem like Hillary?” She will not “go gentle into that good night.”

Victory or Death

Victory or Death,” concluded William Travis. Travis, Bowie and Crockett and the other defenders of the Alamo achieved victory through death. The battle cry “Remember the Alamo” secured Texas independence. I have visited the Alamo a number of times over the years. I am always deeply moved by the experience. Daily while in Texas, I asked the students, “Where is the spirit of Travis, Bowie and Crockett? What has happened to the American spirit?” I was answered with silence.

The socialists are more concerned with personal security and dependence than they are with patriotism and freedom. We used to say the socialists want security from the womb to the tomb. Sadly, the womb is one of the most insecure plays for a child to be today. I fear even in Texas, they have largely lost the spirit of the Alamo.

The President is coming to El Paso for a rally Monday night. Pray that this honorable man will revive the spirit of the Alamo. An unarmed invasion is threatening our country.

Travis wrote, “I will never surrender of retreat.”

President Trump repeated what he vowed in his Inaugural Address at the National Prayer Breakfast the other day, “I will never let you down; never!”

“Build that wall,” Mr. President.”

We have your back, fellow compatriot.

Remember How Mexico Lost Texas

Present Trump alluded to William Travis, Jim Bowie, and Davy Crockett in his rally in El Paso. Two days prior, I wrote a short article on these Texas heroes on my Face Book page.

Of these three daring defenders of the Alamo, only Bowie was actually a Mexico citizen, becoming one in 1830. Mexico had a liberal immigration policy, when Texas was still a part of Mexico. Plus, there were many settling in Texas, who were there illegally. These Texan settlers did not assimilate well into the Mexican culture. They were not speaking Spanish; they were not becoming Catholics; they were not accepting Mexican traditions.

When Santa Anna established himself as a dictator in Mexico, he began to tighten up rule over Texas. Texans rebelled. After Santa Anna defeated the defenders of the Alamo, Sam Houston stopped the dictator at the Battle of San Jacinto and he granted Texas its independence. By the time Santa Anna tried to strengthen Mexican rule in Texas, it was too late.

Americans need to recognize the crisis at our southern border, especially in Texas, as illegals are invading our land, who often do not assimilate well into the American way of life of independence. President Trump is sounding the alarm. On the other hand, the Democrats promote open borders, which are a threat to our Republic. With our ridiculous immigration laws, we are making the same mistake as Mexico did in the 19th Century. We could lose our country.

We must not allow Travis, Bowie, Crockett and the other heroic defenders of the Alamo to have died in vain. Donald Trump has the spirit of these defenders and the spirit of Sam Houston to drive back the invasion of our beloved country.

The walls of the Alamo were 9 to 12 feet high and close to three feet wide. In the third siege of the Alamo the Mexican army scaled the walls, which in effect gave the Mexicans the victory which resulted in the slaughter of the brave defenders. Once Trump gets the wall built, it will have to be maintained and defended, which includes never allowing the internationalists socialists i.e. the Democrat party to ever take power again.

“Remember the Alamo!” Build that wall, Mr. President.

Heroes Past and Present

President Trump praised Travis, Bowie and Crockett, the defenders of the Alamo, at his rally in El Paso. Trump has a sense of the heroic, which is an important aspect of MAGA.

Unfortunately, our contemporary heroes have become creatures of make believe like the “superheroes” Superman, Batman and Spider-man, or rappers and rockers or movie starts portraying the heroic like John Wayne. Still other are sports heroes.

The last heroic president was Theodore Roosevelt, who led his Rough Riders up San Juan Hill in 1898.

The Captains of Industry such as Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, and Carnegie were heroic figures, who took risks in the business world and succeeded beyond men’s imagination. Unfortunately, their reputation has been distorted by those of the socialist mentality, which label them as robber barons, which in a sense adds to their mystic. Inventors were greatly admired in the 19th Century, Fulton, Whitney, and Bell come to mind.

I am a historian by training. One of my heroes in this field is the 19th Century historian of the Oregon Trail, Francis Parkman. I have in my library the complete works of Parkman, who is known for his multi-volume, “France and England in North America.” Parkman, who was virtually blind, lived on the frontier when doing his research.

One of the most heroic preachers in American history was Francis Asbury, the Prophet of the Long Road, who is the father of American Methodism. Our own Ruben Israel is one the most heroic preachers of our time, who constantly faces down danger. His exploits have become legendary. He is also a patriot.

My two main heroes of our time are Rush Limbaugh and Donald J. Trump. I especially admire these men for their communication skills. Rush is on the level of Benjamin Franklin as a great patriot. I have written enough about Donald Trump’s heroics. The one thing lacking in his status as a hero is a military record.

A man’s heroes tell me much about the man. One of Trump’s heroes is Andrew Jackson, Indian fighter and hero of the Battle of New Orleans.

For America to be great again it only requires a relatively few great men, who are dedicated to the cause. Forget the superheroes, sports figures, rappers, rockers and movie stars, although the movie stars can do much to revive truly heroic figures like John Wayne and Fess Parker did for Davy Crockett.

Who are your heroes of the past and the present? We know there are many heroes, who do not get the recognition they deserve and some who get more than they deserve. As for me, I love the stuff of legend whether it is always true about the men or not. Sometimes the legends tell us more about the man than the actual facts.

“No Grabbin’ Down There”

Now we got this woman named, Tulsi, who is going to challenge Trump in 2020. She is an American Samoan and Hindoo of all things.
So we have the wannabe Indian squaw, the female of Jamaican decent and Hindoo heritage and now this one.
Cortez is too young to run; she is the prettiest and does have an engaging smile and fun personality. She will be old enough in 2024 when Trump is out of the picture.
Don’t forget the witch lurking in the shadows waiting to fly again on her broomstick. After all, her husband was known as “the comeback kid.” Let’s see, wasn’t she originally from Illinois? She’s got a nice name, which she claims was given to her in honor of a famous mountain climber.
As for Nancy, she hopes to impeach both Trump and our Hoosier brother and gain the presidency that-away.
Does anyone think for a moment that Trump is concerned about any of these women? If other Dems don’t bring ’em down first then Trump will give any one of them a good spanking, figuratively speaking, of course. He won’t be grabbin’ them down there. That is for sure.

Lion Hearted Men of God

In my unqualified support of President Trump many unbelievers and even many Christians have claimed I am hypocritical and inconsistent in holding him up as a brother in the Lord, while I daily condemn sin on campus. They just don’t see how Trump can possibly be regarded as a Christian.

I fear that if they were actually well read in evaluating David’s reign as King, they might well question whether David was a true believer. Most Christians are familiar with the Acts 13:22, where God says, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.”

However, God’s judgment of David’s character seems inconsistent at times. A less known evaluation of David says, “But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars: you shall not build a house unto my name, because you have shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.”—1 Chronicles 22:8

God considered that David had unnecessarily resorted to war, death and destruction in upholding his Kingdom.

In Gary Greenberg’s book, “The Sins of King David,” the author claims, “David was a corrupt and ambitious mercenary who committed treason against Israel by working with its enemies to seize the throne from King Saul; an ambitious and ruthless politician who initiated, sanctioned, or condoned murder and assassination as a way to eliminate political rivals, royal or otherwise; a Philistine vassal who used an army of malcontents to terrorize and conquer the Kingdom of Judah while Saul was still on the throne; a usurper who went to war against Israel after Saul’s death and imposed himself as king over the nation of Israel by military force; a cruel and unjust tyrant who used foreign mercenaries to centralize power under his direct control and who oppressed the people of Israel with high taxes and forced labor; a military imperialist who waged wars of conquest against his neighbors and exposed the peaceful Israelites to military counter-attacks that left many dead, wounded, or widowed.”

David’s many enemies would have agreed with Greenberg. On the other hand, most serious Biblical students would not be as critical of David as Greenberg is. But for those who judge according to outward appearance and do not judge righteously (John 7:24) upon learning more of King David’s monarchy would likely think he is a candidate for Hell. Many contemporary Christians would not accept King David as a man having the Spirit of Christ, if they really knew all the facts. He did not seem to exercise the ethics of the Sermon on the Mount.

On several occasions David turned the other cheek towards Saul, but with other enemies he could be quite vindictive. His many imprecatory prayers in Psalms do not measure up in the judgment of many Christians to loving your enemies or the principles of forgiveness and reconciliation.

Of course, we all know of David’s adultery with Bathsheba and his murder of her husband, Uriah, by sending him to the front lines of the battle to be killed.

Some may be familiar with David pride, which led him to do a census of Israel, which resulted in God bringing terrible judgments on the people of Israel. The Chronicler considers this sin to have been so bad that the devil himself was behind the census.

David was a weak father, who failed to discipline his children, which resulted in the rebellion of his son, Absalom. David had multiple wives, which resulted in much conflict within his family. Yet, even those who are aware of the faults and failures of David and his sins still regard him as a heroic example of the faith as does the N.T. Book of Hebrews.

What are we to make of the evaluation of 1 Kings 15:5? The scripture says, “David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.”

Notice there is no mention of David’s adultery nor of him numbering Israel. Could it be said that God had forgotten David’s failures and transgressions because of David’s deep repentance? However, his sin against Uriah was so grievous it was still on God’s mind.

After Jesus had forgiven the woman caught in adultery, he said to the Pharisees, “You judge after the flesh, I judge no man.”—John 8:15. There is too much pharisaical judgment against Trump. The pharisees judged by human standards, they did not look beneath the surface and learn to judge righteously.

David’s transgressions in his personal life, some of which carried over into his public life as is virtually inevitable with Christian rulers such as David and Constantine the Great, may not measure up to what men generally expect out of a Christian in our time, nor does President Trump’s life seem to be on the level of the Sermon on the Mount.

President Trump should be judged by a righteous judgment not by hypocrites with a self-righteous censorial spirit, whose overall lives often do not reach the standard by which they are judging others.

Never Trumper

For you never Trumpers, can you name any Republican who would have made a better President that Donald J. Trump? Please explain why your candidate would have accomplished more.

What other Republican has the faith (guts), the stamina, the intelligence and unique experience of Trump to stand against the Washington establishment, the deep state, that is “the swamp”? Who else would or could have withstood the phony media and Hollywood? Who would have been better at interacting with international leaders?

Also, who would have made a better First Lady than Melania? What other woman has the quiet dignity and poise of Mrs. Trump? Do any of our American bred women carry themselves better?

Even most of the Trump defenders usually present the caveat that Trump isn’t perfect, that he has made his mistakes, etc., etc. I think he had done everything right since he announced his candidacy. He is the perfect man for the job. No one could have come close to excelling President and Mrs. Donald J. Trump.

The Age of Trump; the Era of Common Sense.

The movement President Trump describes at the most significant political movement in American history is based on common sense.

Dictionary.com defines commons sense as “sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge, training,or the like; normalnative intelligence.”

Engineer and theologian, Harry Conn, used to accuse college students as being “educated away from their common sense.”

Common sense is not usually valued in academia. Students and faculty are fixed on data and the opinion of the experts. To qualify as an expert, one has to have a PhD in a specialized field of knowledge.

In politics you have your “policy wonks,” who never get too far politically as they tend to be boring, like Al Gore and Hillary.
Pundits like to refer to President Trump as a populist. Trump does not call himself a populist. He does describe himself as a believer in and advocate of common sense.

The pundits are often lacking in practical knowledge, which is why they could never imagine a Trump presidency. Trump did not rely on the experts with their endless polling data. He trusted in his instincts.

Alas, even after Trump’s many victories, there are still the “Never Trumpers,” which are mostly the policy wonk types or the ones who think they went to “the best schools.” When will they ever learn?

In appealing to common sense, President Trump is attracting the common man, who responds enthusiastically, because Trump articulates what they intuitive know. But they lack the platform to spread their political beliefs.

Fred Trump used to take his son to his building sights, where the boy learned from his father to value the advice of the working man on sight more than the educated experts in the high office buildings with their abundance of statistics. In learning to value the opinion of the working man over the experts, he saved himself millions of dollars as he built the Trump enterprises.

Prior to my conversion to Christianity, my desire was to be a good liberal. I read John Kenneth Galbraith, The Affluent Society and The Industrial State. I remember that his Keynesian economics never made sense to me. I concluded I must not be intelligent enough to understand so I just accepted his views since he was the expert and one of the leading spokesmen for liberalism of the 1960’s.

The Bible, especially the Proverbs, appeals to old fashion virtues like initiative and industry, faith and frugality as the way to affluence. After reading the Bible and studying economists such as Milton Friedman, who pleaded for common sense, I decided that my problem was not lack of intelligence or education. In fact, it was not my problem at all. The problem with liberalism is that it does not make sense. It doesn’t promote prosperity. Capitalism is practical in that it has made Americans the most prosperous people with the most economic freedom in the history of mankind.
