Jesus quoted from The Proverbs. His teaching style of speaking in short pithy sentences was influenced by Solomon, who was the wisest man of the Ancient World until Jesus entered into our realm.
Proverbs informs us that by fearing God we can gain, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, which are the principal things.
Not only that, in chapter after chapter Proverbs also promises prosperity, longevity, healing and good health to those who obey God’s precepts.
Acts 10:38 is a good summary of Jesus’ ministry of ” How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power: who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
At 12 years old we find Jesus in the temple sitting among the theologians listening and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and answers. Jesus must have spent his childhood mediating on the Proverbs and conforming his behavior to the tweets of Solomon.
